本片改编自二十年前的经典青春励志喜剧《春光灿烂猪八戒》，讲述了一个只想无忧无虑过舒服日子的懒惰小猪，意外获得做人的机会，被太白金星告知自己是八世轮回的猪八戒，而后卷入了猫妖与小龙女寻找金丹的旅途中，体会到了做人的苦与乐，更明白了做人的责任与担当，收获了与小龙女的爱情，最后，猪八戒击败了猫妖，拯救了春水镇无辜的人们。。Babli (Ranbir Kapoor) is a street smart car mechanic living in a Delhi orphanage.
