该剧以“一事不再理原则”（一旦处理过的案件不再审理的法律一般原则）为背景。讲述5年前被派为国选律师崔度贤（李俊昊饰）负责的一起女性被杀案中，该案嫌疑犯韩钟久被起诉杀人，但最终被判无罪。之后韩钟久因为其他杀人案再次被起诉，在裁判过程中他自白自己是5年前的杀人案的真凶，但因为“一事不再理原则”而无法接受处罚。将讲述即使犯人自白了，却无法惩罚的法律的讽刺故事。。A man finds out from a would be killer that his wife has paid $10,000 to have him killed.
