为了养活家，王新宇没日没夜工作，偶然的机会去医院输血，拿到家庭体检报告，发现三个孩子的血型都和自己不一样，极有可能不是亲生，回家后，王新宇发现妻子徐梦媛鬼鬼祟祟，于是在一次妻子出差的机会偷偷跟去，没想到却发现了妻子的秘密……。本片由日本松竹电影公司于1979年拍摄，原著取自埃勒里·奎因的小说《灾难之城/凶镇》，侦探的名字也从埃勒里·奎因更名为罗伯特。 不过情节依然忠实于原著，并获得了当年日本学院奖和电影旬报奖（都是女配角奖，获奖者为小川真由美），该片首映时，丹奈（奎因两兄弟之一）还专程赶到日本出席仪式。In a tragic accident, Kathiravan loses his wife and his left leg.
