灰蒙蒙的都市丛林，美丽的小女孩眼神中没有渴望和雀跃，她跟随妈妈穿梭钢筋水泥的光影之间，按照社会既定法则亦步亦趋。她的未来似乎早被注定和规划，即使生日礼物也找不到些许惊奇。为了进入好学校，母女俩搬到郊外一幢独栋房子里，旁边则是一间与周遭格格不入的破房子。某天，一个飞机螺旋桨突然破墙而入，从而建立起女孩和隔壁那个怪爷爷的友谊。老人自称曾是一名飞行员，年轻时他迫降沙漠，在那里认识了有着纯真心灵的小王子。女孩听老人讲述着有着童话般瑰丽色彩的往事，不知不觉间心驰神往……
