22接到游戏公司邀请，参与他们研发的虚拟现实游戏《盒中海》试玩。游戏世界里的南方沿海渔村，村民们把各家各户供奉的神像请上街来“游神”庆贺元宵。22和其他3名测试玩家发现一位未曾见过的女性神明“慈舟圣姑”。随着深入探查“慈舟圣姑”的来历，他们逐渐发现来自游戏外的人为篡改痕迹，有一个神秘的力量在潜移默化影响游戏里的npc。另一方面，22的妹妹33也在游戏外发现员工的蹊跷行为。居心叵测的公司企业、悄悄策划神秘仪式的npc渔民、还有似乎各怀秘密的同伴。一个多方势力交织的巨大阴谋渐渐浮出海面。。We take our liberties for granted.
