抗日战争时期，蒋介石特使周士航（崔明普 饰）刚到84军，就被刘子翁（李檀 饰）派出的杀手击伤。因叛徒出卖，地下党员梅淑英（桂萍 饰）被捕，敌阵中她慷慨陈词，后被劫出，逃跑中跳崔。第二天深夜，军部副官宋克森（赵建文 饰）、军长王朝宗（杜雨露 饰）的外甥女丁丽芸各怀目的，寻找跳崔的梅淑英，后梅被丁藏于庵内。熊国祥（鲍海鸣 饰）利用陪军长夫人进香之机，夜盗密令逃逸，王朝宗闻听大怒，亲率卫队追赶，途中遭袭。熊国祥原形毕露，参谋长拨枪对准王朝宗。僵持下，押梅淑英前去机场，不料遭伏兵袭击，梅不幸殉难，王朝宗面临此景，追悔莫及，愧疚难当，宋克森抱着梅的尸体缓缓走向自己的军长......。When Gumdrop and Vroomer, the latest members of the Plane Scout crew, are sent on a mission by commander Gumdrop, they take off on the greatest adventure of their lives.
