本片从四季流转的美食在年夜饭中的意义出发，把中国人对过年的情感融入历史文化、民俗文化、饮食文化和地域文化中，去寻味乡愁、寻味传统。本片选题在地域上涵盖全国，内容上涉及山河湖海，以食材的生长、采集、收获、储藏和制作为时间轴，拍摄上跨越四季， 以《四方风物》《他乡故乡》《寻味南北》《山海四季》四集内容来体现中国人对于过年、家和故乡的情感。。1996年的OVA版(4话) When crime and terrorism go out of control in Tokyo, the police unleash Team Warrior - a band of highly-skilled and completely reckless band of female cops.
